A new home at Hawley Beach, designed as a long-term single level home. The site rises gently to the south, opening up to the north and connects to views toward the water and the Narawantapu national park in the distance while maintaining privacy from the streetfront. A small enclosed garden courtyard gives views from the main entrance hallway and rooms on the southern end of the building to the garden. The claddings are textured to provide interest whilst still be low to no maintenance and do not scream for attention, letting the form of the house do the talking. A brick breezeway wall and a low fence with brick piers, referencing the materials of the building and shape the approach.
The living areas open onto a deck sheltered from the prevailing winds and capturing views and sun whilst maintaining privacy from the street below.
