Elonera House. Five awards. One considered home.

A whole-home response shaped through heritage, landscape, building design and interiors.

For us, the brief began with respecting the character of the existing home, then carefully reworking how its spaces connect, open to the garden and support the way our clients live.

SEZAR RESTAURANT | MELBOURNE

From fine dining to relaxed hospitality.

When Sezar took over a former high-end seafood restaurant in Melbourne's C*D, the brief was to transform the atmosphere from formal, special-occasion dining into something more relaxed, welcoming and social.

Our approach focused on creating warmth and character through materiality, lighting and spatial experience.

Textured brickwork, warm timber, dark detailing and intimate lighting work together to create an environment that feels comfortable without compromising on sophistication.

The intention was never to diminish the dining experience, but to make it more approachable.

Because good design isn't just about how a space looks. It's about how it makes people feel.

Eleebana House, inside.

The kitchen and living spaces were designed to feel open, warm and familiar, while supporting the practical needs of High Physical Support living.

SDA housing should be carefully coordinated, but it should also feel like a place to live, gather, rest and feel at home.

That balance is where the design work matters most.

Acousola House, an award winner.

We’re proud to share that Acousola House won Best House Addition + Renovation up to $500k at the 2026 Design Matters National Awards.

Soft curves, generous glazing and terraced outdoor spaces bring the home, pool and garden together, creating room to gather and enjoy everyday life.

A big thank you to Courtney and Marcus for trusting us with their home, and to everyone involved in bringing it to life.

Ari Alexander Design Group.

We are a Melbourne-based building design studio creating considered homes, renovations, additions, SDA housing, townhouses and development projects.

Our work sits somewhere between creativity and practicality. We care about the idea, but also the planning pathway, documentation, consultant coordination and how the project will actually be built.

We believe good design should feel personal, clear and resolved, without making the process feel intimidating.

Clear advice. Practical design. No ego.

Eleebana House.

A High Physical Support SDA home designed to feel residential, warm and considered.

The brief was not to create a clinical environment. It was to design a home that supports care, dignity, independence and everyday living, while still feeling calm, generous and personal.

From the street presentation through to the kitchen, living spaces and accessible ensuites, the functional requirements have been integrated into the design rather than treated as an afterthought.

Supported by a collaborative team of expert consultants, Eleebana House is about creating SDA housing that goes beyond the minimum requirements.

High Physical Support, designed to feel like home.

SDA homes should not feel clinical.

We design high-end High Physical Support homes that go beyond the minimum requirements, creating spaces that support care, dignity, independence and everyday living.

Compliance is essential, but it should not be the only ambition.

Through a collaborative team of expert consultants, we coordinate access, compliance, services, building requirements and performance from the beginning, so the functional needs of the home feel integrated rather than imposed.

The result is SDA housing that feels considered, residential and genuinely liveable.
