So Happy to see this finally come to fruition. Jeff Van Remortel had asked us this spring if we wanted to help out with a stocking project he was getting started, it was a no brainer to help out as much as we can, especially with the WI DNR cutting musky stocking this year. Wish we could of been up there this past week to help out with the actual stocking but donating to help feed the little muskys all year is the least we could do. Thanks to everyone involved to help keep this great resource in WI for years to come.
Over the last two days, 8963 large fingerling (11.5" avg length) muskies were stocked into Northern Wisconsin Inland waters of 6 Counties and the waters of Green Bay. This collaborative effort between the Mole Lake Tribal Fisheries/Hatchery Team and a coalition of 4 Musky Clubs is the largest private (non-DNR) musky stocking event in the history of the State of Wisconsin. The Mole Lake Team did an incredible job raising these extremely high quality fish. The transport and stocking was carried out by the Mole Lake fisheries crew, a local DNR crew and volunteers from the The Vilas and Oneida County Musky Fund, Boundary Waters Musky Club, C&R Musky Club and Headwaters Musky Club! A huge thank you to everybody who made this possible behind the scenes for the inaugural year of this project! We are already looking forward to 2027!
