⭐️Nettie Update⭐️

She finally let us get all of those burrs off of her! We cut her mane and some of her tail because trying to get them out one by one was making her extremely uncomfortable and that’s the last thing we want to do.
As soon as the mane came off, you could visibly see her body relax 🥹

And as you can see, Max has been supervising it all. Making sure she isn’t getting any treats without him taste testing it first to make sure it’s safe 😉

Welcome home, Neytiri (aka Nettie) 🤎

Sometimes, the ones who need the most love are the ones who have the hardest time believing it still exists.

Nettie has found her way to our farm thanks to the amazing rescue work of The Adventures of Shishana Rourke, and while we may never know every detail of her story or everything she’s been through, we know one thing for certain: her past does not have to define her future.

Rescue is about so much more than bringing an animal home. It’s about giving them a chance to feel safe, to learn to trust again, and to discover that not every human will hurt them. It’s about showing up with patience when they’re unsure, offering kindness when they’re afraid, and loving them without asking anything in return.

Our goal with Nettie is simple. We want to show her that life can be good, that people can be kind, and that the world can be a much gentler place than she may have known. She doesn’t have to rush, prove herself, or be anything other than who she is. We’ll meet her where she is and let her find her way in her own time.

We can’t rewrite the chapters that came before us, but we can make sure the ones ahead are filled with compassion, patience, and love. And if, along the way, Netti learns to trust a little more, fear a little less, and believe in the goodness of people again, then every small step will be worth it. 🤎

Welcome home, sweet Nettie. You may not know it yet, but you are so worthy of the good things still waiting for you. Your story isn’t over. In fact, a beautiful new chapter is just beginning. 🐴🤎

🎉🐾 ONE WHOLE YEAR OF LAMBOS FARM PET LODGE! 🐾🎉

One year ago today, a dream we had been working toward officially became a reality. ❤️

Over the past year, we’ve welcomed so many sweet faces, made wonderful connections, learned a whole lot, and have grown in ways we couldn’t have imagined when we first opened our doors. Every booking, referral, kind word, review, and returning customer has meant more to us than you know.

As a small, family-owned business, your support truly makes a difference. When you choose us, you’re not just choosing a place for your pets to stay. You’re supporting our family, our farm, and a dream we’ve poured our hearts into building.

🥵 **Man, it's HOT!** Texas summers are brutal... and not just for us. Our pets feel the heat too.

We could write a really long post explaining how dogs and cats don't sweat like we do and rely mostly on panting to cool themselves down... but let's be honest—who reads those? 😄 So here's the simple version:

☀️ Keep pets indoors during the hottest part of the day.
💧 Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water.
🌅 Walk and exercise early in the morning or later in the evening.
🎾 Keep them entertained with fun indoor games when it's too hot outside.
🚨 If your pet shows signs of overheating—excessive panting, weakness, drooling, vomiting, or collapse—**CONTACT YOUR VETERINARIAN IMMEDIATELY.**

Keeping your pets safe this summer doesn't have to be complicated. A little extra care goes a long way.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and help keep your furry family members safe! ❤️🐾

If your sweet older pup needs a little extra care, a slower pace, medication, mobility assistance, or just some extra love and attention, we are happy to accommodate!

We know that senior dogs deserve comfort, patience, and gentle care, and we’re honored to provide that while you’re away. Every gray muzzle, cloudy eye, and slow tail wag is treated like family.

Because growing old should never mean being left out. 🐶✨

One thing we see far too often in rescue is dogs suffering from heat exhaustion and heat stroke—and it’s completely preventable.

Because we’re constantly at veterinary clinics with injured, sick, and abandoned dogs, we see a lot! We also know a lot of people who work in vet clinics, including the veterinarians and techs so witness firsthand how quickly the Texas heat can turn into a life-threatening emergency.

We also see loving owners who simply don’t realize the danger. They just want to give their dogs a nice walk or let them play outside. Unfortunately, good intentions don’t protect dogs from extreme heat.

The Texas heat can kill your dog. There really isn’t a gentler way to say it.😭

If it’s hot enough that you have to question whether it’s safe, it probably isn’t. Walk early in the morning or after the sun goes down, always test the pavement with the back of your hand, bring plenty of water, and never push your dog beyond their limits.

Heat stroke happens fast, and emergency veterinary care can cost thousands of dollars. More importantly, even with treatment, not every dog survives.

We love seeing people out enjoying life with their dogs—but during a Texas summer, sometimes the most loving thing you can do is stay home, keep them cool, and wait for the temperatures to drop.

Please don’t take chances. Stay cool. Stay safe. Your best friend is counting on you. 🦮☀️
