We are thrilled to celebrate a Chicago design win! The Computer Design, Research, and Learning Center at the University of Illinois Chicago has received a Citation of Merit in the 2026 AIA Chicago Design Excellence Awards.

Designed in collaboration with Booth Hansen, the 135,000-square-foot CDRLC provides a new home and welcoming public face for UIC’s growing Computer Science department. Classrooms, labs, offices, and lounges surround a naturally lit, five-story atrium that encourages connection and collaboration while linking the building to Memorial Grove and the adjacent Science and Engineering Lab Building.

We are excited to share that Field Arts & Events Hall has received a 2026 Citation Award from AIA Washington Council.

Located in Port Angeles, Washington, Field Arts & Events Hall is a new cultural hub for the Northern Olympic Peninsula. Designed as a multipurpose arts center and community gathering space, the 40,140-square-foot venue brings together performance, events, visual art, and year-round public engagement.

Its architecture reflects the surrounding landscape through an ascending glass form, regionally sourced timber, and expansive views of the city, waterfront, and Olympic Mountains. Developed through extensive community outreach, the project reflects the collective vision of Port Angeles and supports its future as a cultural destination.

We are honored to share that Morgridge Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has received a 2026 Fast Company Innovation by Design Award!

Designed by LMN Architects in collaboration with Kahler Slater, Morgridge Hall brings learning, student life, and research together through a daylight-filled atrium, collaborative hubs, indoor gardens, terraces, and flexible spaces that invite exchange across disciplines.

As Mark Tumiski, Principal at LMN, shared with Fast Company, “Once you start seeing chemistry students in your computer science building . . . it’s a good problem to have.”

Wood is having a moment in the Pacific Northwest, and we are thrilled to see the Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal on the cover of The Seattle Times Pacific NW Magazine.

In “The Return of Wood,” design writer Lauren Gallow explores how mass timber is changing the way we think about architecture, from the character of our buildings to their relationship with forests, carbon, and human well-being.

The story includes several LMN Architects projects, including Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal, Founders Hall at the University of Washington, Lakeview Office Building in Kirkland, and Forest Trailhead at Woodland Park Zoo.

We are especially excited to share a small preview of the new Forest Trailhead, where a visible mass plywood structure and skylights create an experience inspired by light filtering through the forest canopy.
