Me: “What if we built a bar here?”
Client: “Ashi - we LOVE this idea!”

And a new direction for this Living Room was born. Part family gathering spot, part cocktail hour, and entirely their own.

From materials to rendering to the original space. Swipe through. 🥂
{Cusp Interiors creates layered, highly personal homes shaped by color, pattern, materiality, and the people who live in them. A full-service residential interior design studio serving San Francisco, the Bay Area, Houston, and beyond.}

May there always be light to find, traditions to share, and reasons to gather. ✨

Such a beautiful evening celebrating Diwali during The San Francisco Fall Show. Thank you IRG Stone | Exotic Quartzite & Marble and AAPI Design Alliance for bringing our design community together for an evening filled with warmth, color, and wonderful company.

All the more special getting to share the celebration with my team (we missed you marissaboice!).

Happy Diwali! 🪔✨

A little traditional, a little something new. Add rich color, layered textures, cherished pieces, and a few unexpected finds and you’ve got a home that wears fall particularly well. 🍂🍁

It’s Friday. The bar is open and there’s more where that came from. Just peek behind the hidden door. 👀

For our Pacific Heights project, we’re looking to the past for inspiration drawing on the richness of traditional architecture while bringing a fresh perspective to the design.

Think intricate architectural detailing, beautiful craftsmanship, richly veined stone, decorative plasterwork, and materials that only get better with age. A little old-world romance, a little unexpected drama, and plenty of personality. We’re interested in the details that make you look twice…and the ones you might not notice until the tenth visit.

A first look at the references shaping our design direction. More to come as we bring this San Francisco renovation to life.

Fleet Week has us thinking back to an install from a few years ago when the Blue Angels were practicing overhead and we had front-row seats from our client’s balcony.

Safe to say, we took a few more breaks than usual that week.

A little look back at this San Francisco project and some of the spaces we created inside.

Guest Bedroom at our Menlo Park project. Botanicals, geometrics, checks, stripes. Turns out, they’re very good company.

I recently revisited my first project. One thing I’ve come to appreciate over the years is that good design has staying power. Trends evolve, but thoughtful decisions can transcend time.

This breakfast nook is full of choices I’d still make today. Swipe through for five of them.

Every memorable home has an idea.

Not a color palette. Not a style. An idea.

Early in the design process, our client shared a rainbow Missoni carpet by STARK that they loved. Rather than asking where it belonged, we let it become the conceptual spark for the entire home.

The stair runner became more than a runner. It established a design language rooted in color, pattern, and personality that echoes from room to room without ever feeling repetitive.

Every unexpected moment that followed - from the entry to the breakfast nook to the bar - can be traced back to that first conversation.

Design feels most cohesive not when everything matches, but when everything answers the same idea.

And that’s the difference between a collection of beautiful rooms and a home with a point of view.
