The chicks were moved to the transitional coop over the weekend. Of course, I found them in a dog pile on the ground in the dark so we started roost training. I placed each one onto the roost. and they stay put because chickens don’t see well at night. Doing this nightly for a week usually teaches them what to do. I’m also considering adding an older hen to the coop, who will automatically roost, and show them what to do.
