Remember Allen's Super Save on State Street?

For years, this corner of Orem was a familiar stop for groceries, errands and everyday life. Now we're getting ready to give it a new purpose with our first HomeBuilt location. We know a lot of you have memories of this place. We're looking forward to making some new ones here, too.

What are you most looking forward to when HomeBuilt opens?

Meet some of the people helping bring our first HomeBuilt store to life.

We're working through plans, choosing products and thinking about all the little things that can make a trip to the hardware store a whole lot easier. Because when you walk through our doors, we want you to feel welcome, find what you need and know there's someone there to help.

What's one thing you wish every hardware store got right?

A month ago, we were tossing ceremonial shovelfuls of dirt. Now the site is starting to look a little different. Here's where things stand on State Street in Orem.

We'll keep sharing the progress as the first HomeBuilt takes shape.

We've spent a lot of time asking what should be easier about a trip to the home improvement store.

Finding the right product? Getting a straight answer? Knowing what's in stock before you drive over? Getting in and out without losing half your Saturday?

Now we're asking you. What's one thing you wish was easier?

Here's one thing we're pretty sure nobody has ever said: “I wish buying lumber involved more walking.” So at HomeBuilt, it won't. Drive into the covered lumberyard and we'll get your lumber loaded and on your way without you lifting a board.

If you've ever carried a stack of 2x4s across a parking lot, this one's for you.

Why Orem?
Because you build things. Homes. Businesses. Beautifully designed rooms. Painted trim that looked a lot easier when you watched the tutorial video.

Some of you do it for a living. Some of you are figuring it out as you go. Either way, it helps to have someone who can point you in the right direction when the project gets interesting.

That's the kind of place we're building on State Street in Orem.
What are you working on right now?

Why are we building a new kind of home improvement experience? Because we think it can be a lot better.

Easier to find what you need. People who know the work and can actually help. Higher quality products and more elevated brands than you’ll find at any other home improvement store. A Design Center where a professional team helps to bring the whole project together.

That's why we're building HomeBuilt.

Onward and upward!
We broke ground this morning on the first HomeBuilt in Orem.
Over the next year, this site will become something we've spent a lot of time thinking about: a home improvement store that works just as well for someone who knows exactly what they need as it does for someone who could use a little help figuring it out.
We've got a lot to build. And a lot more to show you.

For 100 years, Clyde Companies has been building in Utah, with roots in hardware and building materials dating back to 1937. Now, with HomeBuilt, we're building the next chapter on a site with plenty of history of its own.
