Have you ever tried coconut, cinnamon and rose together in a cookie?

I came across this unusual flavor combination while looking through The Flavor Bible and decided I just had to try it! I used Swerve instead of regular sugar and even gave my Cricut Cake another try at cutting cookie dough into decorative shapes.

Let's just say the Cricut Cake was a challenge! Thankfully, you don't need one to make these cookies. Regular cookie cutters work just fine.

The cookies turned out buttery with a lovely combination of flavors, and my husband even took some to work to share!

Have you ever baked with rose water? I'd love to know what you made!

The garden season is not over just because it is November. Here in Indiana, fall vegetables like garlic, spinach, kale and root crops can keep producing well into the cold months - some even taste sweeter after a frost. My fall vegetable guide covers planting windows, hoops and frost cloth, and when to mulch.

There is always one. You walk the pens doing your checks and somebody has to poke her head through the fence to supervise. Honestly, the flock misses nothing. Do your hens follow every move you make too? - Sheri Ann

There's something so comforting about the warmth of a wood stove on a chilly November evening!

But heating with wood is about more than enjoying a cozy fire. Choosing the right firewood, keeping the stove maintained, and learning how to use it efficiently are all important parts of heating a home safely.

Our wood stove is an important part of life on the homestead, and I appreciate having another way to keep warm.

Do you heat with wood, or do you have a fireplace just for occasional fires?

Turn your wood stove into a homesteader's essential with expert tips. Mastering wood stove usage ensures warmth, efficiency, and comfort.
