Often, my organizing clients ask for suggestions of how to re-envision how their stuff lives either them. I’m not into buying the trendy storage solutions, but I do look for the quickest way to safeguard family heirlooms. This client is already thinking of life chronologically so it made sense to sort by timeline. We also talked about categories, like career stages and kids.

It’s been such great weather for yard cleanup. Most of it is unnecessary for nature, but it’s a great time to take out the roots of weeds and invasives. Check out www.projectswithjulia.com to schedule a free estimate.

What I love about end of season gardening for my clients is noticing what nature did with our hopes and clean up from the spring. This perennial bed got 80% rebuilt in May, and it was fun to see the full perennials blooming and the weeds much reduced! We know the flowering plants will double next year too, which is so exciting!

I was in Michigan last week and noticed the forest floor. We do so much mulching in our yards, but this natural space hosts all the early spring flowers! It’s free from invasives, and we love our time in natural woods!

Balcony masonry is the type of project that clients have to build trust to hire out the service. This project was 5th floor, no elevator. Half the blocks went down and the client salvaged half of the new ones to be carried up. Beautiful weather for this type of work!

In Wisconsin, we take pride in our lawns. But allowing the leaves to linger this fall can save you some effort and help pollinators prepare for winter!

As the monarchs begin their migration south, many butterfly, bee, and moth species are hunkering down in the leaf litter. This year, opt to to protect overwintering insects!

If you can’t resist the temptation to rake, try piling your leaves around trees or perennials rather than bagging them up. This will provide refuge for pollinators while also insulating your landscaping from the perils of the Wisconsin winter! 🍂

Glad to see WWBIC as a sponsor for the women in business conference today. It’s glorious weather for yardwork, but taking a moment to plan and connect to build clientele.

If you give a mouse a cookie, homeowner edition. There’s propane tanks in the closet so we might as well clean out the solvents and such from the basement too. To Clean Sweep we go!
