A Special Kind of Help Today! 🙏
Today was a little different here at SweepSmart. I had the privilege of having a very special helper alongside me — Pastor Don from Grace Church in Conesville, Iowa!
You know, years ago, this man answered a calling from God to serve in ministry, to teach His Word, and to help lead others closer to Christ.
Well, today he answered another calling… mine! 😂
I needed an extra hand sweeping chimneys, and without hesitation, he stepped up to help.
Now, I may have been the one teaching him a thing or two about chimney sweeping today, but the truth is, this man has taught me far more than I could ever teach him.
I taught him how to clean a chimney. He taught me how to better understand the Word of God.
The knowledge he’s shared with me, the wisdom he’s passed along, and the time he’s invested in helping me grow in my faith are things you simply cannot put a price on.
What makes him such a great pastor isn’t just what he teaches from the pulpit. It’s how he lives his life outside of it. He’s a man who doesn’t just preach about serving others — he actually does it.
And today was another example of that.
I’m incredibly grateful to have him as my pastor, my friend, and, at least for today, my fellow chimney sweep!
But above all, I’m grateful for the Lord who brought people like him into my life. God has a way of putting the right people in our paths, sometimes to teach us, sometimes to encourage us, and sometimes apparently to help us clean chimneys! 😂
