A little Paint-A-Pot magic for Hoboken Art Month! 🎨🏺

Last night we joined Blue Skies Pottery for a Paint-A-Pot session that doubled as a sneak peek of their brand new Hoboken space! Kids and adults gathered around the table, picked a piece, grabbed a brush, and turned plain pottery into something completely their own, from bold patterns to the tiniest details.

Blue Skies Pottery has been giving Hoboken a welcoming place to get creative since 2022, and this new spot on Monroe Street means even more room to make. Beyond one-time workshops like Paint-A-Pot, the studio offers multi-week wheel throwing and handbuilding courses, kids’ classes, open studio memberships, and private events for birthdays and group outings!

A big thank you to the Blue Skies team for opening their doors early, and to everyone who joined us for another fun Hoboken Art Month workshop!

Stoopfest has been bringing a little extra rhythm to the Mile Square City!

From live performances to neighbors gathering and enjoying music together, the past two weeks have been all about celebrating local talent, supporting our businesses, and bringing the community together.

Join us for another round of Stoopfest performances TODAY, October 28:

🎶 Zack Alexander at Grace Sciancalepore from 4-7 PM
🎸 Arthur Pawley and Lahna Deering at Guitar Bar from 5-7 PM
🎷 Joe Taino and Band at Stingray Lounge Hoboken from 5-7 PM

From jazz and indie rock to blues and more, there’s something for everyone! Grab a friend, find a spot, and show some love to the talented musicians and local businesses making it all happen.

All performances are outdoors, weather permitting. There’s nothing like live music bringing our community together ! 💛

Hoboken Art Month is all about celebrating the creativity that brings our Mile Square City to life! 🎨

One of the many incredible works of art is local artist Ricardo Roig’s vibrant mural, “Waterfront Party,” at Willow House!

Inspired by Hoboken’s lively restaurant scene, music, and sense of community, this amazing mural captures the spirit of our city through a colorful, Great Gatsby-inspired celebration. Featuring Ricardo’s signature hand-cut and spray-painted technique, the piece is a tribute to the people, places, and experiences that make Hoboken so special.

Take a behind-the-scenes look at Ricardo’s creative process, and be sure to stop by 14th Street and Willow Avenue to experience this incredible work of art for yourself! ✨

Stoopfest is back this Wednesday, October 28! 🎶

Part of Hoboken Art Month, presented by the Hoboken Business Alliance and the City of Hoboken Office of Cultural Affairs, this happy hour live music series brings local performers to businesses around town every Wednesday.

All performances are outdoors, weather permitting.

This week’s lineup:

🎸 Zack Alexander at Leo’s Grandevous, 4-7pm
 An award-winning jazz vocalist, Zack specializes in the style of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack and is on a mission to preserve the Great American Songbook. Find him on the 2nd Street plaza, directly across from Leo’s and next to the Multi Center. Zack Alexander

🎸 Arthur Pawley and Lahna Deering at Guitar Bar, 5-7pm
 Each will perform a 45-minute set outside on the sidewalk in front of the store.
 5pm: Arthur, the lead singer of the Hoboken band 3 Dollars, plays a mix of originals and some of his favorite emo and indie rock songs. 3 Dollars 
6pm: Lahna, who hails from Memphis, sings original songs about life, love, and everything in between, plus a few beloved covers. Lahna Deering

🎸 Joe Taino and Band at The Stingray (1210 Washington Street), 5-7pm
 A New York City icon who began playing in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Joe has performed for more than 50 years and is inducted into both the New York Blues Hall of Fame and the Puerto Rico Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His music moves from blues to jazz to Latin jazz and Caribbean sounds. Catch him outside in the streeterie.

Hoboken Art Month has given us plenty of reasons to try something new 🎨✨

We stopped by for a colorful, hands-on workshop that brought the community together to make something uniquely their own.

And there’s still more creativity to come! 🎨 Upcoming workshops include ’s Paint-A-Pot session on October 27, plus the Artist-in-Residence book art workshops at the Hoboken Historical Museum: Pocket Accordion Book on October 26 and Altered Book Artwork on November 2.

While all three workshops are currently sold out, there’s still a chance to join the fun! Head to the link in our bio to join the waitlists in case a spot opens up.
