It should be worse before it will be better

Watching my bit crazy ideas coming alive is the best feeling in the world! 😍

Room on the budget
Before: one brave bulb and a bed waiting for its personality to arrive.
After: a cozy mountain escape—no hiking boots required.

Design tip: A room feels instantly more finished when you layer lighting, textiles, and one focal wall. Here, the mural adds depth, the curtains soften the window, and the bedding brings in that “just five more minutes” comfort.

Which detail would you steal for your own bedroom?

Tough Spaces:
This basement bedroom was redesigned to feel sophisticated, balanced, and inviting—without the need for an extensive renovation. The unusual ceiling drop was visually minimized by recentering the light fixture and creating a strong focal point around the beautifully styled bed. Board-and-batten detailing, coordinated furnishings, and layered textures draw the eye downward and give the room a polished, custom look.

The small basement window now appears much larger thanks to curtains hung high and wide, a light-colored shade, and thoughtful placement that adds height and presence. The result is a brighter, more spacious-looking bedroom that proves smart, budget-friendly design choices can completely transform a challenging space.
