Trees don't lose their roots when they lose their leaves.

This season I'm letting go of anything that feels negative and closing out the year with a Q4 rooted in positive energy, simplicity, and faith.

My faith is the foundation that keeps me grounded when the world wants to change me. It's what makes it possible to let the rest fall.

Simple isn't less. It's clearer.

What are you letting go of before the new year?

Your trade pricing stays yours.

Clients never see it in Procurement Studio. What they do see is a polished proposal that looks like it came straight from your studio, with your logo, banners, terms, and rates already built in.

You decide what shows. Keep it to the basics, go full specs, or start from a pre-built minimum schedule. Add freight, shipping and handling, receiving and inspection, design and procurement fees, or a custom fee of your own. Toggle off any column you don't want on the page.

Once it's approved, your purchase orders and project reports are right there too, including profitability by project, vendor, or client.

I built every part of it to adapt to your system, not the other way around.

I build a charcuterie board the same way I build a room.

Anchors first. Then the big pieces. Then the details that make it feel collected.

Bowls of jam, honey, and olives go down first, spaced out like furniture in a floor plan. Cheeses next, never side by side. Then the meats, folded and layered so there's movement. Crackers and fruit fill the edges, and rosemary covers every last gap.

Scale, balance, and layering. Design principles work at the table, too.

Save this for your next gathering, and tell me: what's the one thing that always goes on your board?

Start with whatever you already have.

Drop a product link, a cut sheet, a spreadsheet, or even a mood board into your project. Tell Procurement Studio where to source from, and it pulls options to get you started. Add your preferred vendors by category, like your go-to tile or lighting supplier, and your searches pull straight from them.

Everything you add lands in the FF&E tracker automatically, where you can update room locations, status, change orders, and tracking. Each space has its own calculator too, so you can see your spread per room.

No more copying and pasting between four tabs.

6 beta spots open November 1, with free access through December 31, 2026. Request access at pencecreative.com/procurement-studio (link in bio).

Two paint colors I'd put on a front door this fall.

Urbane Bronze, SW 7048. A deep brown-gray with an olive cast that turns into rich, shadowy bronze under warm lamps at night.

Roycroft Bottle Green, SW 2847. A deep, muted green that feels like the first page of a good book. Add aged brass hardware and it tells a story before anyone steps inside.

One tip before you buy the gallon: dark colors shift a lot with light. Put up a big sample and check it in the morning, at midday, and with the lamps on.

Team bronze or team green?

December doesn't slow down. It speeds up.

If you've run a design business for more than a year, you know the calendar tips somewhere around October. Installs stack up. Clients want everything done by Thanksgiving.

Here's what I'd put in place now, while there's still breathing room:

Map every install and deadline through December
List the technical work waiting in the wings
Line up support before you need it
Refresh the templates you reach for most
Block one afternoon to plan next year

Save this for your next Monday planning session.

What's the one deadline already on your mind?

Eighteen inches. That's where an entry bench seat should land.

Entryways are small, which is exactly why the numbers matter. A few inches off and the bench is awkward, the hooks are out of reach, and the door catches the rug.

The quick reference:
Bench seat: 17 to 19 in, with 18 as standard
Hooks: 60 to 66 in for adults, 36 to 48 in for kids
Console: 30 to 34 in high, 10 to 16 in deep
Mirror: 2/3 to 3/4 the console width, 6 to 10 in above it
Rug: low pile, about 1/4 in or less
Walkway: 36 in clear, always

Save this one for your next entry plan.

I'll clean up your templates so every new project starts a step ahead.

Presentation templates, FF&E schedule formats, the files you duplicate on every single project. When they're messy, every project starts behind.

It's the kind of work that sits on the someday list for years, because there's always a real project in front of it.

I'm a trained interior designer, and I speak your software. Hand me the templates and get back a clean, ready-to-go set.

DM me "templates" and tell me which one bugs you most.

Here's something I felt strongly about when I built Procurement Studio: no gated features.

So many programs hold back the good stuff until you upgrade. A few of my beta testers told me they love their current clipper but not the clunky software or the price tag that comes with it. I get it, and I didn't want that for you.

Every plan gets every feature. The tiers are only about seats, because more seats means more memory and maintenance on my end. That's it.

Starter: one designer seat and up to 3 active projects. Archived projects never count against you.
Pro: up to 3 seats and unlimited active projects.
Team: up to 5 seats and unlimited active projects.

This is how I run my whole business. No gatekeeping, just the tools to help you get your time back.

Beta testers use it free through December 31, 2026, and 6 spots open November 1. Request access at pencecreative.com/procurement-studio (link in bio).
