A couple months ago The Vinyl Vixen posted about a recent film failure WrapSeshAZ had with a new 2026 Toyota Tacoma. The film on the rock guard and seam sealer lifted, becoming very spongy and wrinkled. We think a lot about this type of stuff, and had some ideas. We're highly confident that the plasticizers inside the PVC Plastisol migrated through the paint and over plasticized the film. Rock Guard in particular is very sensitive to glue removers, and we believe that has to do with the curing process required for painted PVC Plastisol. So what's the answer? Longer outgassing? Thanks to Jessica for the footage and helping us solve the mystery.
