Candy might bring you through the door. But red velvet drapery? That makes you want to stay. 🍬

With Halloween almost here, I couldn’t resist sharing this sweet project for Candor Candy in Brooklyn. Designer Brian Cash brought us the vision, and we brought it to life right here in our Woodstock workroom.

These draperies needed to look beautiful from both sides. No lining to hide behind. Just rich red velvet with carefully hand-stitched hems, because the back deserved as much care as the front.

Together, those details help make a visit feel like more than a quick stop for candy.

We believe custom window treatments should do more than cover a window. They should change the way you live in a room. Even when that room is filled with candy.

The colors were quiet, but the fabrics had character.

NYC-based designer Brian Cash Works selected an incredible mix for this Lake Lanier home, with wools, linens, and a bamboo blend for the bunk areas. Natural fibers have a mind of their own, so we spent time in the workroom training the folds before a single panel made it to the wall. Ripplefold drapery, Euro pleats, Roman shades, pillows, cushions...each room had its own answer.

A dining room with expansive windows is beautiful, and in a new build with neighbors nearby, privacy becomes part of the design.

Pull them open, and the room fills with light. Draw them closed, and the space is entirely yours. Either way, every detail, down to that mitered valance corner, was handcrafted to look beautiful from every angle.

What’s scarier than a horror movie? A room with unfinished windows! 👻🎃

With Halloween just around the corner, we thought it was the perfect time to revisit one of our favorite unexpected moments of the year.

Remember when our custom Roman shade made its big-screen debut in Scream 7? 🔪

That’s right! A home where we designed and fabricated the window treatments was used as a filming location, and there, right alongside Sidney Prescott, was one of our very own creations!

While everyone else was watching for Ghostface, we were watching the windows. 👀

Not every day does your work end up in a Hollywood horror movie!

Swipe to see our little movie star in its natural habitat. Even Ghostface appreciates a well-dressed window. 👻

Every room in this mountain home has its own answer.

The arched windows we featured last week called for flowing drapery and curved hardware. But the office called for something else entirely...structure, precision, and a custom cornice with architectural detailing that feels completely at home alongside the traditional millwork.

Same house, completely different solution. That’s what true custom means.

Back in 2024, I got a call from a designer about a home he was designing for a client on Lake Lanier. It was a substantial project, and he needed a workroom that could handle everything it would take to get the window treatments right. Fabrication was only part of it. He needed someone who could think through the complexities with him, keep track of the details, and take some of the work and worry off his plate.

That designer was Brian Cash of Brian Cash Works. Based in New York City, he was working with local builder MAK+KAM to create a beautiful lakeside home for his clients. He knew how he wanted the rooms to look and feel. What he needed here was a workroom he could count on to help make that happen, even when he couldn’t be onsite.

Over almost a year, we helped carry that work from early planning through installation and finishing touches. Now that the home has been featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, I’m excited to share our part of the story on the blog.

I learned from women who poured everything into what they made, and I try to do the same for every client who trusts me with their home.

This is National Women's Small Business Month, and I'm proud to celebrate it alongside so many of you. Some of the most talented designers I partner with run their own women-owned firms, and many of our clients have built businesses of their own. When we work together, it's one woman who loves her craft helping another bring her vision to life, and I love being part of that.

I hope you'll join me this month in supporting the women-owned businesses in your own community.

When you live this high up the mountain, the view becomes part of the house. ✨

Our client wanted to enjoy every bit of it, and she also wanted privacy whenever she chose. We handled that with motorized roller shades mounted just below the arches. In this photo, they're rolled up and nearly invisible. Can you find them? They blend right into the trim, so they never distract from the design or the view, and they lower over the doors with the touch of a button.

She also wanted the windows framed all the way to the top, arch and all. To get the drapery up there, we templated each arch right on the wall and used those templates to create curved hardware made for these two windows alone. The rod follows the trim from end to end, so the drapery and the architecture read as one shape.

Now she has her view and her privacy, and the room feels finished from floor to ceiling.
