A kitchen island hardware dilemma with a simple solution!

On one end of this island, we have a trash pull-out, so we centered the hardware to distribute the pulling force more evenly and reduce unnecessary stress on the cabinet over time.

On the opposite end, we have a standard cabinet door that doesn’t necessarily need a centered pull, but we chose to match the placement for a clean, cohesive look across the entire island.

These are elements of the design that seem stressful to some clients, but when we start to work through the process it all comes together beautifully!

One of our favorite details in this kitchen! 🤩

What was once a wall with a refrigerator and freestanding sideboard is now a beautiful built-in feature with a countertop just 12 inches deep, custom towers that extend all the way down to the counter, and custom open shelving in between.

We love how it feels like its own piece of furniture while still tying seamlessly into the rest of the kitchen.

Functional, intentional, and cohesive!✨

Three things that completely transformed this kitchen WITHOUT a full tear-out! 🤩

1. Fresh Paint + Hardware: These cabinets were already great quality, so instead of replacing them, we gave them a fresh coat of paint and updated hardware for a cleaner, more modern look!

2. Statement Stone: New countertops and a matching stone backsplash became the centerpiece of this kitchen, adding so much character and elegance!

3. Custom Island: We completely rebuilt the island with custom drawers and pullouts to make the kitchen just as functional as it is beautiful.

Proof that you don’t always have to start from scratch to completely transform a space! 🤍

Before you plan your kitchen island, think about the flow of your space! 👀

Walkways, pinch points, and where you place your island seating can make a HUGE difference in how functional your kitchen feels.

A beautiful island is great, but one that works for your everyday life is even better!
