Yellow leaves with green veins are a common sign of chlorosis in maple trees. Left untreated, it can weaken the tree, cause dieback and make it more vulnerable to other problems.

Catching it early can make a major difference.

This ash tree has died after emerald ash borer (EAB) damage. EAB larvae feed beneath the bark and damage the tissues that move water and nutrients through the tree. As the damage progresses, the canopy thins, branches die back, and the tree can eventually die.

Some ash trees can be protected with properly selected insecticide treatments, including soil-applied or trunk-injected systemic applications. The right treatment depends on the tree’s size, condition, and how far the infestation has advanced. Early evaluation matters: treatment may protect a suitable living tree, but it cannot bring a dead tree back.

If you have an ash tree showing thinning or dieback, have it evaluated to see whether treatment is still an option.
