Fully immersed in the details today.

We have a print at home by audrey szabo that says “Great things take time”. I don’t know what the original quote was, but it’s become a bit of a mantra for me in the workshop.

Some jobs just can’t be rushed. Getting these bow ties right takes time, but it’s worth it.

Part 3.
Third piece for this bedroom, with storage below and open shelves above. Because apparently, there’s no such thing as too much LEGO!

Made from pine with black metal framing, all built to fit the space.

That’s six pieces of furniture I’ve made for this family now. I think they might have a bit of a thing for my furniture!

Part 2! Looks fairly simple, but there’s a fair bit of timber in this one!

A solid little storage unit with black metal legs. Bigger than it looks at 1m high and 60cm deep. Some weight to this one!!

Making the most of every inch of this alcove! Plenty of storage below, open shelving above, and a rather large Lego collection waiting to move in.

The room has sound insulation, so I needed to come up with a way of making it look built in without fixing anything to the walls. The whole unit is freestanding and fully supported in its own right.

Made from pine certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, with black metal pipe supports for the shelves.

Bloomin’ love my job me. 😃
This cabinet is part of a bigger unit — solid wood with floating-panelled, traditional shaker-style doors.

Tomorrow it’ll be getting its finish and a few extra details sorted, then it’ll be onto the next one! 😃

Quite fond of this one.

A solid sapele shelving unit made for a music room, with mid-century styling and adjustable shelves for books, records and all the bits that inevitably gather around a well-used space.

The rounded uprights soften what is otherwise quite a weighty piece and stop the whole thing feeling too formal. Sapele can go very dark and serious if you let it, so keeping the detailing light was important here.

Made as ever from sustainably sourced hardwood and finished by hand in hardwax oil.

Something very special coming to the Heatons this Sunday. This solid oak entrance way bench/coffee table/end table will be available to purchase from me. It’s approx 110cm x 35cm and at standard bench height (43cm). Some slabs you instantly fall in love with and this won my heart early on!!
