After feeling a bit miserable recently, I decided it was time to give myself a little pampering and get my lashes done. After all, my colleagues (the ducks) clearly expect me to maintain certain standards of appearance. Nobody wants to work alongside a scruff bag, apparently. 😂🦆

As always, Elaine worked her magic and made me feel a million dollars. Well ok, about 50 dollars but still 😂

Although I suspect the conversation about duck appendages isn’t quite the usual salon small talk! 🤣 I’m not sure that’s covered in the standard beauty therapy training!

It’s the day EVERYONE dreads… CESSPIT EMPTYING DAY! 😂😂💩

The ducks are TERRIFIED. Apparently, the giant hose is a terrifying anaconda and the cesspit opening is a bottomless portal of doom. (It actually is if the ducks fall in!) So naturally, nobody is allowed out! 🦆🐍

Meanwhile, we are paying for the sh***est expense we have 😂😂 literally!

*SOLD OUT* THANKS EVERYONE - orders will be ready by next week 🥰 I will try and offer more sets if I can get more jars the right size!
Ok ok I really do need to do the Christmas chutney and jam sets, I’ve been a bit lacking in motivation but I do have a stock ready. I think the contents are going to be the mulled apple and pear chutney (it’s like Christmas in a jar!) and a spiced orange and pear jam. I’m going to offer a second option for jam - flavour tbc.
Pre-orders encouraged as I only have very limited stock and when it’s gone it’s gone! £6 for the below (I’m basically just putting in a box to look prettier so not adding money on to normal cost)

Well, this is a strange feeling! After 25 years of giving my time, commitment and a fair bit of my sanity to public service, today officially marks my medical retirement date.

It’s been quite a journey working across government in law enforcement, the National Crime Agency, the Home Office and other areas. Along the way, I managed to climb six grades, collect several awards and, more importantly, work alongside some fantastic people.

As I close this chapter of my life, I’d like to say a huge thank you to all my colleagues and my organisation for the lovely retirement gift and thoughtful send-off.

Oh, wait… I didn’t get one! 😂

Not a card, not a gift, not even a slightly awkward bunch of flowers from the petrol station.

Apparently, 25 years of service, six promotions and several awards doesn’t quite stretch to a leaving card. Perhaps the budget was under investigation. 🤔

Still, after everything, I’m officially retired. Here’s to a new chapter, new adventures and finally being able to ignore emails without feeling guilty!

Cheers to 25 years of service. Clearly, the government’s gift budget and I have gone our separate ways!
