Call us today for your free no obligation quote! In 2006 Mountainside Woodwork Inc. was formed.

After years of training and gaining experience in high end European craftsmanship, its founder, Tyson Klassen-Rau, envisioned a niche in the marketplace that would provide customers with not only top quality craftsmanship in millwork and cabinetry, but in addition finishing woodwork packages including doors, windows, baseboard and much more...

Custom cabinetry isn't only about beautiful kitchens.

It can solve problems throughout the home.

Mudrooms that actually contain the chaos.

Bathroom vanities designed around your storage needs.

Built-ins that make an awkward wall useful.

Laundry rooms that make an unavoidable chore a little more pleasant.

Home offices, entertainment centres, bars and storage solutions designed specifically for the space.

Custom-built means we aren't limited to what comes in a box.

What space in your home could work harder for you?

A thoughtful renovation isn't automatically a replace everything renovation.

Sometimes the smartest decision is identifying what still works and investing in the areas that will create the greatest impact.

Maybe the cabinets stay and get refaced.

Maybe the footprint stays but storage improves.

Maybe one custom feature completely changes how the room functions.

We believe renovation dollars should be spent intentionally.

Keep what works. Improve what doesn't. Create what’s missing.

The best time to start planning your renovation isn't three weeks before you'd like construction to begin.

Especially when custom work is involved.

Design decisions, cabinetry, materials, specialist scheduling and lead times all need room to breathe.

We're now encouraging homeowners considering a renovation in 2027 to begin the conversation.

The earlier we understand your project, the more thoughtfully we can plan it.

Trends are fun.

Quality has staying power.

When we approach a renovation, we're thinking beyond what looks good today.

We consider materials, craftsmanship, functionality and how the choices you're making will live in your home for years to come.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about walking into a kitchen years after it was completed and seeing that it still looks and functions beautifully.

That’s the long game.

One of the most expensive phrases in renovation can be:
“I wish we had thought about that earlier.”

Planning matters.

Outlet locations. Storage. Lighting. Appliance clearances. Cabinet functionality. Traffic flow. Materials. Installation requirements.

Individually, they can seem like small decisions. Together, they determine how successfully your finished space functions.

Our job is to think several steps ahead — so your finished renovation feels intentional from beginning to end.

We don’t believe one person needs to know everything.

We believe in knowing who to call when specialized expertise matters.

A renovation can involve cabinetry, countertops, plumbing, electrical, flooring, tile, finishing, installation and plenty of unexpected problem-solving.

Having a trusted pocket of specialists means we can lean into the right expertise throughout the project.

Because good collaboration creates better results.

During a renovation, there’s often a moment when your beautiful inspiration photos feel VERY far away.

Your kitchen is packed into boxes.

There are trades coming and going.

Something important is definitely underneath the one box you can't find.

And you're wondering why you ever started.

Then the cabinetry arrives.

The finishes start going in.

The vision begins to appear.

Renovation is temporary. Living in a home that works beautifully for you is the reward.

Older homes have character.

They also have walls that aren't quite straight, unusual dimensions and the occasional surprise hiding behind drywall.

That's where custom work shines.

Rather than expecting your home to conform to predetermined dimensions, custom cabinetry and skilled craftsmanship allow us to create solutions specifically for the space in front of us.

Every home has its quirks.

We prefer to work with them.
