🇺🇦 Ukrainian comfort food for your freezer — with a special offer!

At Ukrainian Soul Roots, our food is made from scratch with care and inspired by the flavours of home. We’re happy to share two of our favourites with you.

🥟 A special perogy mix — only 4 bags available!
We don’t usually offer this variety mix. Each bag has 12 perogies in 3 different flavours:

• Potato, Bacon & Cheese
• Potato & Mushrooms
• Spinach dough with Potato, Feta & Dill

🥟 Perogies Mix Bag - $25 per bag

🍲🫜 Also available is our authentic Ukrainian borsch. It’s often called Ukrainian beet soup, but beets are just one of the many vegetables in it. They give borsch its beautiful deep red colour, while its rich, tangy-sweet flavour comes from a medley of other vegetables and beef broth. There are so many vegetables in our recipe, it might be easier to name the ones that aren’t in it! Each frozen 14 oz cup also includes a piece of beef.

🫜 Frozen Borsch — $10 per 14 oz cup

Pickup is available any day in Renfrew at the O’Brien Road McDonald’s parking lot. We’ll arrange the day and time with you in advance.

Send us a message through our page to talk about an order and arrange pickup. We love sharing Ukrainian dishes and the culture behind them, and it means a lot to us when you give them a try. 💙💛

During market days, we're always so busy that we rarely have time to take our own photos.

It's such a pleasure to see ourselves through our friends' eyes!

A big thank you to Castlegarth Farms for these lovely photos and for thinking of us! ❤️

We’re looking for a few local shops that might like to carry Ukrainian Soul Roots 👀

Could Ukrainian comfort food find a place on your shelves? 🇺🇦

Hi there!🤗

We’re a small food business in the Ottawa Valley. Everything we make is prepared by hand, from scratch, using traditional Ukrainian recipes passed down in our family.

Some of you may have tried our food at local markets, where we’ve served both hot dishes and frozen products. We’d love to find shops in Renfrew County, Ottawa or nearby that might be interested in offering our frozen foods to their customers.

Our frozen selection includes Ukrainian perogies, beef and vegetarian holubtsi (cabbage rolls), beef-stuffed peppers, borshch and other soups, savoury and sweet filled crêpes, syrnyky, deruny, zrazy and more. We’re still working on new products, too. The attached photos and menu show some examples.

A little about how we work: there’s one person doing the cooking, and each batch takes time to make. Because everything is handmade in small batches, we’re not able to work on a traditional wholesale basis, either in production volumes or pricing. We can, however, discuss smaller quantities and an arrangement that works for your shop while fairly reflecting the time and care that go into each batch. Product selection and quantities can be discussed based on what would work best for your shop.

We operate as an inspected food business in Ontario. We care about making filling, flavourful food with care, and we’re proud to introduce more people here to the Ukrainian dishes we grew up with.

If you run or know of a local shop that might be a fit, please send us a message. And if someone comes to mind, we’d be grateful if you shared this post with them 💙💛

🍇 A little more about my love for grapes…

Back in Ukraine, I grew my own vineyard, with many varieties carefully selected and nurtured over the years.

Summer brought beautiful table grapes — large, juicy, and wonderfully sweet.

But autumn had its own treasures. Even when the first frosts arrived, my w**e grapes were still ripening.

I especially loved Muscat varieties — golden, almost amber in colour, incredibly sweet, and full of fragrance.

Interestingly, making w**e was never my goal. I simply loved growing these grapes and making pure, natural grape juice from my harvest.

I miss my vineyard and every plant I raised with such care.

Growing plants has never been just a hobby for me. It has always been an important part of my life — years of learning, experimenting, patience, and dedication.

And although my garden is far away now, every season brings me back to it in my thoughts. ❤️

Pear season brings back such beautiful memories… 🍐

I miss my garden in Ukraine so much, especially the trees I grew from tiny saplings.

Every autumn, I would harvest my pears, carefully sort them, and put them away for storage. I still remember the simple joy of holding each pear in my hands.

Soon, they would turn golden, become wonderfully juicy, and taste absolutely delicious.

Some memories are as sweet as the fruit itself. ❤️
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
